One Photo Per Day - Day 120 - Storyteller
This is not film but digital, the film version of this shot was disappointing. I was downtown taking pictures and this guy hailed me from across the street asking what I was doing. I told him I was taking shots of downtown documenting the fate of a largely forgotten part of our city. He asked me if I was a journalist:) He went on to regale me with stories of the vibrant downtown he knew when he was a kid. We shared a few minutes of nice conversation and he agreed to let me photograph him. This was a spontaneous pose, looking off pensively. It really speaks to the mood of his stories that day. Not sad but pensive. The storefront behind is a nod to a bygone era of hand painted signs and years of personal service. This is one of my favorite photos. This is as close as I've ever come to really telling a story with a photograph.Categories & Tags

What if you did a little post work on his face, white shirt, and maybe the building foundation. Darken them up a bit. Would his face show more detail then? Maybe show the wrinkles more?
