I’ve taken a fair amount of photographs of this old barn. This one may be my favorite. It’s winter in Idaho, winter is pretty bleak around here, sometimes a bit depressing. Not much is alive. That’s the same feeling I get when I look at this barn. I imagine that it used to vibrant and full of life. Now, like many farms around here and all over the country, this farm is falling into disrepair and seems to be in the winter of its life. I think the fact the barn is just a bit out of focus speaks to the fact that farm life as it once was is fading into the background a bit. Anyway, those are a few of my thoughts as I look at this photo.

Fantastic brother. Absolutely fantastic. I have seen several pictures of this barn (feel like I’m getting to know it pretty well, which I kinda like by the way), but this picture makes me see the barn like new, all over again. I think that says a lot about the picture. Really cool. Looks awesome on our new site, too.
Congratulations guys on your new – and super cool site.
I like this barn too,it brings to mind the paintings of my favourite American painter – Andrew Wyeth. Good one Matt.
Great capture….love the compositon and the muted tones.
